Hiring Process for Student, Staff and Faculty
Step by step process for New Hires
Congratulations on your new position with the University of Texas at El Paso (Â鶹¹ÙÍø).
Welcome to Â鶹¹ÙÍø an emerging institution and workplace of choice. Below is a step by step guide that will assist you as you begin to work at the university.
Keep in mind Student Hires are NOT allowed to work until their New Hire documents and Criminal Background Check (CBC) have cleared:
The Student hire should complete ALL of the following steps prior to the start date. Failure to do so may result in unnecessary delays in appointment.
Step By Step Student New Hire Onboarding Responsibility
- Complete the New Hire Packet sent via email from DocuSign.
- Complete the background check questionnaire sent via email from Record Pros.
- Complete the electronic I-9 .
- Schedule a virtual I-9 appointment by clicking
- A list of acceptable I-9 identification documents can be found . Please have all documents ready for submission during the appointment.
- Complete onboarding module upon notification of assignment.
Please schedule an appointment prior to visiting Human Resources.

Step By Step Faculty New Hire Onboarding Responsibility:
- Complete the New Hire Packet sent via email from DocuSign.
- Complete the background check questionnaire sent from Record Pros.
- Complete the electronic I-9 .
- Schedule a virtual I-9 appointment by clicking
- A list of acceptable I-9 identification documents can be found . Please have all documents ready for submission during the appointment.
- Complete the onboarding module upon notification of assignment.
Once the job record is active Faculty Hires must complete the Onboarding Module within 48 hours of its assignment notification from Human Resources. The module will require you to upload employment information, including direct deposit to avoid payroll delays.
- International hires must complete a Glacier Tax form. Please email HROnboarding@utep.edu for Student and Faculty hire access. Please Email Employment@utep.edu for Staff hire access.
- Schedule a virtual I-9 appointment by clicking to submit both I-9 documents and Glacier. Kindly have your documents ready for submission during the appointment. Please note that walk-ins are always welcome, however wait time in the Office of Human Resources for document presentation may vary.
