The Master of Science in Bioinformatics is a Professional Science Master’s (PSM) degree designed to train science professionals who can decipher and interpret information embedded in complex biological systems. Graduates are prepared for technical fields in agriculture, biodiversity and environmental science, cancer research, drug design, genetic and infectious diseases, and health data management.

Lucia Alvarado is a clinical data manager for Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. in Boston. Her background in life sciences and biomedical research, including genomics and bioinformatics, was honed in part at Â鶹¹ÙÍø. The bioinformatics program provided her with the foundation for an analytical problem-solving mindset and practice in effective collaboration with diverse, cross-functional teams.
Our program prepares computational biologists for collaborative and multidisciplinary work with biomedical and clinical researchers. Our graduates work for organizations such as Dow AgroScience, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Pfizer and others.
