Â鶹¹ÙÍø biomedical engineering students learn to identify and address unmet clinical, diagnostic, and health care needs. Through work in labs such as Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s Biomedical Device, Delivery and Diagnostic (B3D) lab, students hone the analytical tools and knowledge of modern engineering and science, understanding of the biological or physiological system, and familiarity with technological advancements.

John Ciubuc believes collaboration breeds quality research. At Â鶹¹ÙÍø, he worked with students in physics and biological sciences to present at the Interdisciplinary Research and Education Symposium. Ciubuc helped develop a breast cancer tumor identification method in the Optical and Spectroscopy and Microscopy Lab. Today, he is pursuing a medical degree at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Graduates from our program can apply to Ph.D. programs in BME or to medical school. Those who have entered the workforce have found positions in biomedical industries or federal agencies such as the FDA after graduation.c.
