Miguel Sifuentes wanted to take his instruction to the next level so he pursued this degree to become a dual-credit English teacher. He enrolled because colleagues spoke highly of the program, which enhanced his research skills and his knowledge of theory and criticism of literature. The degree helped him earn a promotion in the new Harmony School of Innovation Middle/High – El Paso.
A master's degree in English and American Literature prepares students for careers in grant or technical writing, consulting, or teaching in the primary and secondary schools; for future professional study in law, business or administrative fields; and for work in any field that requires strong writing, analytical and communication skills.
