College of Science
Students in the Master of Science in Mathematics program can tailor their studies to their interests and goals, whether they focus on applied mathematics in preparation for a career in government or industry, or study theoretical mathematics and pursue further graduate studies. Students benefit from opportunities to conduct and present research alongside faculty experts.
Listen to renowned mathematicians from across the country through the department's Colloquium Series
Faculty are experts in algebra and combinatorics, analysis, fixed point theory, Topology and more
Successful track record of preparing students for doctoral studies as well as for positions in teaching and industry
Enrique Gomez’s dream of working for NASA became reality after completing his master’s in mathematics at Â鶹¹ÙÍø. Because of the support he received and the knowledge he obtained, he was able to succeed at both NASA and IBM, climb the ranks and go on to lead a team of over 900 people, helping to change the scope of the aerospace industry.
With an applied mathematics approach, students can go on to work for governmental agencies, in data analysis and more. Students who take a theoretical mathematics route iprepare for careers in research and academia and further graduate studies.
