This flexible program was designed to fit the needs of students who want to become school counselors primarily in a K-12 setting. Â鶹¹ÙÍø, in-person and hybrid courses accommodate students in different circumstances. Nationally recognized faculty train graduates, who consistently excel in state exams, to help students with their academic, career and social-emotional development.

Zulema Zuniga realized as a first-year teacher that her elementary school students faced multiple challenges that slowed their academic progress. She decided the best way to serve them was to become a school counselor. The El Paso native said that Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s M.Ed. in school counseling built her skills, knowledge and confidence to develop a nationally recognized counseling program at her campus.
The vast majority of graduates become professional school counselors, but the field has expanded to include new roles for people with a counseling background. These jobs include career counselor or special education counselor.
