Romy Y. Cerón Canché’s dream is to teach literature and languages in higher education, so the Yucatan, Mexico, native chose this program for its varied curriculum. The degree plan honed her research and teaching skills, and primed her for Ph.D. studies in Spanish literature and culture at the University of Arizona, where she is assistant editor of the Arizona Journal of Hispanic Cultural Studies.
