This online degree promotes innovative approaches to literacy research/education and helps teachers enhance their knowledge of literacy with linguistically diverse learners, which puts them in a position to take leadership roles at the campus, district and community levels. Students will learn to balance theories with current literacy practice and to develop, implement and assess literacy curriculum.

Andrea Rios grew up in El Paso and Juárez, and studied to become a teacher. The certified educator wants to become a reading or curriculum specialist to enhance her ability to assist struggling bilingual students. Andrea enrolled in Â鶹¹ÙÍø’s M.Ed. in Literacy Education to gain the necessary skills to help create, modify and plan student-driven curricula that will help them thrive.
