MEET DR. ECHEGOYEN

Chemistry Research Professor Luis Echegoyen, Ph.D.,has conducted groundbreaking studies on Buckminsterfullerenes, or buckyballs — cage-like fused-ring structures of carbon molecules that resemble soccer balls. He was the director of the chemistry division at the National Science Foundation and has held several prominent leadership positions in scientific organizations, including a term as president of the American Chemical Society.
