Exception: Irregular plurals that do not end in s need an apostrophe and s to take the possessive form.

When used as adjectives, there are three ways to write compounds
Compounds are used both as nouns and adjectives
Compounds including proper nouns

Compounds including numbers

She lived on the third floor Studied the biology of the eightieth century
Exceptions
Words with prefixes
Examples: postmodernism, misrepresent, revisited.
