Master of Accountancy
Our MAcc program is designed for individuals preparing for careers in professional accounting fields or for practicing accountants wishing to increase their knowledge. The MAcc program provides a learning environment that develops a diverse set of skills in students to prepare them for professional careers in a dynamic world.
There are two components to the Master of Accountancy program. The Pre-Master of Accountancy requirements consists of 36 semester hours of courses in accounting, business law, economics, quantitative methods, marketing, and finance. Students who have completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited business schools are not required to complete leveling courses.
The MAcc course of study is 30 semester hours of graduate level coursework including 27 hours of accounting core courses, and 3 hours of accounting capstone. Completion of the MAcc degree meets the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam in Texas.
AACSB Accreditation
The Woody L. Hunt College of Business has earned AACSB Accreditation for both it's Business Administration and Accounting programs. Less than 5 percent of business schools worldwide have earned this prestigious designation from AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business—which provides global leadership in advancing management education.
