Coalition Against Violence Against Women
Several WS Associated Faculty members belong to the coalition against violence against women. The coalition promotes anti-violence programs and education and works closely with anti-violence groups in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
El Paso Child Fatality Review Team
The El Paso Child Fatality Review Team reviews death of all persons under age 18 in El Paso County. Coordination of agency response and prevention measures are assessed. Statistics and recommendations from the review process are sent to the Texas Department of Health & Vital Statistics. The WS Director, who specializes in violence against children, participates in the reviews and compiles the local report.
Women's History Month Events
The Women's Studies Program organizes several events for the month of March to celebrate Women's History Month. All events are open to the public and some events are co-sponsored with community organizations, student organizations, and other Â鶹¹ÙÍø academic programs and departments. Events include guest speakers, films, plays, workshops, poetry contests, and political forums on women's issues. Academic Presentations and Events
