INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Now that you've been admitted to Â鶹¹ÙÍø, start taking your next steps to becoming a Miner.

ADMITTED MINER CHECKLIST

We're here to help make each step toward becoming a Â鶹¹ÙÍø Miner a smooth experience. Below are the immediate steps you need to complete before you begin attending Â鶹¹ÙÍø.

 


1. ACCEPT YOUR ADMISSIONS OFFER

Let us know you accept our offer of admission and plan to attend Â鶹¹ÙÍø. You will need your Â鶹¹ÙÍø ID number to accept our offer. You can find your Student ID on your acceptance letter.

 


2. REGISTER FOR NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

New Student Orientation is required and free to all new students. At orientation you will learn about your major, connect with your academic advisor, and register for classes. You will also have the opportunity to discover student services and resources, and meet current Â鶹¹ÙÍø students.

To register for orientation, log into your MyStatus portal at and select the session that works best for you. If you have trouble registering for an orientation session call the Office of New Student Orientation at 915-747-6752. Orientation sessions fill quickly and close in advance.

 


3. REGISTER FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION

In addition to New Student Orientation, all international students are strongly encouraged to attend International Student Orientation. This offers international students information about academic, social, and cultural opportunities. During this orientation, you will learn about maintaining your immigration status, applying for a social security card, and getting a driver’s license.

4. ACTIVATE YOUR MINERS ACCOUNT

All Â鶹¹ÙÍø students are required to set up a Â鶹¹ÙÍø account to access e-mail and student portals. After you attend orientation, all official university communication will be sent to your new Â鶹¹ÙÍø e-mail. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Â鶹¹ÙÍø HelpDesk at 915-747-5257.

 


5. EXPLORE STUDENT HOUSING & LIVING ON CAMPUS

What’s so great about living on campus? In a word: everything! Students who live on campus enjoy benefits including from getting involved in their community, being close to classes and activities, living and learning with friends. We offer a variety of living options and floor plans including efficiencies and multi-bedroom units.

All of our housing comes fully furnished with access to recreational areas, study areas, and the Miner Metro Shuttle.

6. SUBMIT FINAL DOCUMENTS

As you make the transition to becoming a member of the Miner nation and completing your high school diploma, please remember to submit copies of your final high school transcripts showing your high school graduation and final grades. Transcripts must be sent from your high school to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment to allow you to register for future courses.

Transcripts can be submitted electronically through the Texas Records Exchange (TREx), sent form another secure electronic platform to submit@utep.edu, or mailed directly to:
