Degree Requirements
Two avenues are available to earn the M.S. degree in Physics.
Plan 1 requires thirty credit hours of course work and the completion and defense of a M.S. thesis. This includes six hours of thesis work (PHYS 5398 and PHYS 5399).
Plan 2 is a non-thesis option and requires thirty-six hours of course work and the successful completion of a written report based on a research problem (PHYS 5391). Please note that Plan 2 is less common and requires approval by both the Undergraduate Program Director and the Department Chair.
