Next-Generation Advanced Algebra and Functions
The Next-Generation Advanced Algebra and Functions (Calculus Placement Test), is intended for students who wish to demonstrate academic readiness for Math 1411.
In order to qualify for this placement you must first be considered college ready in math. These are your options on being college ready /student-affairs/testing/tsi/tsi-exemptions.html
Test Information
The test has 20 questions that focus on a range of topics, including equations and functions, including linear, quadratic, rational, radical, polynomial, and exponential. The following knowledge and skill categories are assessed:
- Linear equations
- Linear applications
- Factoring
- Quadratics
- Functions
- Radical and rational equations
- Polynomial equations
- Exponential and logarithmic equations
- Geometry concepts
- Trigonometry
Cost
Pay the $20 test fee .
NOTE: THE TEST FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE. Valid only for one fiscal year (September 1st through August 31st of the following year)

Registration
Â鶹¹ÙÍø Registration – If you paid online, refer to your confirmation email and locate the reference number. Then go to and login using your Â鶹¹ÙÍø credentials. Click on "Test Registration" to select the test and test date for your exam, then click "Register". Enter the reference number you received in the confirmation email to reserve a seat.
In-Person Registration – You can also reserve a seat in person at the Student Testing Office, located in the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Library, 4th floor, room 401 or by calling the TEST RESERVATION line at (915)747-5009. Refer to the test schedule for dates and times. Once one session gets full, it will no longer be displayed on the registration system.

Scores
The Next-Generation Advanced Algebra and Functions (Calculus Placement Test) a minimum score of 276 . The scores are available for the student’s review immediately after completion of the test. A valid ID is required for students requesting test scores upon completion of the test. All test scores are loaded into the student’s record within 24 hours of completing the test.
Test Length
The Next-Generation Advanced Algebra and Functions is un-timed but you will only have a 3 hour block of time. If you run out of time and wish to continue you will have to schedule another day within a 14 day period to return to continue with your exam.
This exam is only good for 2 years.
Test Preparation
ITEMS NOT ALLOWED:
FOOD, DRINKS, HATS, MECHANICAL PENCILS, ALL TYPES OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES, ALL TYPES OF WATCHES, AND CONCEALED HANDGUNS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE TEST ROOM!
